Jason Gray

Position: Paediatric Emergency Nurse Consultant MSc BSc (Hons) RMN RGN RN(CH) FFEN

Jason initially qualified as a registered mental health nurse in 1993 before pursuing a varied career in child psychiatry, surgical nursing and adult emergency care. He has over 10 years experience in Paediatric emergency nursing with his previous position as an advanced paediatric emergency nurse practitioner at the Royal Alex Children’s Hospital. This experience was complemented by working within several London Teaching Hospitals, including the Whittington Hospital as Clinical Nurse Manager for Paediatrics.

He works actively as committee member for the Childrens and Young people’s acute care forum of the Royal College of Nursing and nursing representative on the RCPCH Intercollegiate Committee for Emergency Care. He is module leader for the child emergency care module at the University of Brighton and teaches on both pre and post registration nursing and paramedic courses.

Jason is currently studying for a Doctorate in Healthcare at King’s College London with particular interests in nursing skills and opportunistic vaccinations within emergency departments. He has been instrumental in developing the children’s emergency department since its first suggestion 2 years ago.
